Helping Ugandans Grow Stronger (HUGS) is a publicly-supported charitable organization providing services and financial assistance for the care, education and spiritual growth of orphans in Uganda living in high-risk home situations -- many of these children are directly affected by the HIV epidemic in this region.
Our goal is to promote a safe and secure environment enabling Ugandan children to realize their potential, contribute positively in their community and help improve the lives of their fellow citizens. We accomplish this goal with a personal sponsorship program aimed at assisting children grow into productive members of the Ugandan society. Our current focus is to provide facilities and supplies to impoverished children in the south-central Rakai District of Uganda.
