October 13, 2007 - The only word that could describe my trip to Uganda would be "irreplaceable." No one will be able to top the memories I took away from the school of Bright Hope. The Children of HUGS have forever stolen my heart. What HUGS is doing for them is amazing. They have provided them with hope for today and a promise for a better tomorrow.

I miss my time in Uganda so much. You wake up to the sound of the children singing as their laughter fills the air. Then you rush as quickly as possible to get dressed so you can go out and play games with them.

And as good as that is, none of it can top Sunday mornings. The children bathe and dress for church, and as they sit on your lap you take in the fresh smell of samona. This is a smell that is like no other, and until you breathe it in yourself you will never know why just talking about it makes me smile.

When you take a look around you, you can see Uncle Fred and Uncle Tony preaching so vividly. They are so passionate about God, it seems that if they don't speak of Him right at this moment they will jump out of their skin. And the children have so much dedicatioin and faith in their God, more than I have ever seen in a full grown adult. Then after church, the children run around and play soccer... their giggles and smiles will be forever etched in my brain.

Uganda left me with a different outlook on life, a stronger faith, and a heart for missionary work. Something that can only be described as irreplaceable.
