HUGS Announces "Bowling for Bulanga" Fundraiser in Denver
June 19, 2008 - Helping Ugandans Grow Stronger, Inc. (HUGS) is pleased to announce its latest "Kids Feeding Kids" cosmic bowling fundraiser that will take place on Sunday, July 13th in the Denver, Colorado area. Entitled "Bowling for Bulanga," the event promises to be a fun afternoon for the entire family, and a winner for Ugandan children in need.
The fundraiser will be held from 3pm to 5pm at Brunswick Zone at 945 South Kipling Parkway in Lakewood. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door for $10 each. The admission price includes 2 hours of bowling and shoe rental. The money raised will help fund new orphan housing for children in the village of Bulanga, Uganda. HUGS directors will be on-hand to answer questions about the organization and its programs, including ways that people can sponsor individual children in the village.
"The project in Uganda is in need of additional housing for children at risk." said Victoria Gibson, President of HUGS. "We have children already waiting for these new facilities, and we are grateful that the Kids Feeding Kids program is helping us meet this need."
"Kids Feeding Kids" is the brainchild of young Sofia, who decided that kids in the U.S. could do something to help kids on the other side of the world. "I just want people to know that one kid can make a difference," Sofia said. The Denver event is being organized by teenage volunteers Jessica & Brittany, both from the Aurora area.
